Just returned form the latest Venice trip. We were lucky enough to have great weather for the 4 days with sunshine, meals sat out at restaurants in the evenings and even mosquitos to contend with at night. A new hotel was used this year which may well become a regular feature for future trips. The magnificent seven for this trip were Will, Helen, Ted, Dominic, Roy, Heather and Myself. Already have 2 bookings for next years trip. Check out the web site for the latest dates to be announced shortly.

A big thank you to the 2014 course participants for the revival 2014. A great day with brilliant weather and the usual high standard of motor racing with another sell out year for the event in 2014.
Highlights of the day for me were the flight of the 2 Lancasters. Check out next year for new motor racing events including a formula 1 day to friday practice at Silverstone.

We have our tickets for the Friday allocated and places are limited so book now to avoid disappointment.

Route 66 – Last days
What a finish to the trip. After travelling down to Santa Monica along the busy LA freeways we finished out trip at the Santa Monica Pier with the end of the road sign on the Pier and the official site just a short walk from the Pier. After that we had a final meal together in Santa Monica before heading back to the UK. A really big thank you to everyone on the tour which made this trip really special. After having 2 trips with most of the group it is sad to think that we won’t all be going again next year. I have enjoyed both trips and you will be a hard act to follow. Looking forward to seeing your corrected pictures over the coming weeks.
Day 11 – Route 66
Today we headed off across the desert to Barstow. First stop after a twisty drive over the mountains to the old mining town of Oatman – a real tourist trap and the most commercial place we have come across on route 66. Then we headed out to Amboy and the Bagdad Cafe before arriving at the Route 66 Motel. This is another classic route 66 motel with great photo opportunities. The motel is old school but clean with great period charm. Check out the picture by John Lane below.
